On June 27, 2025, the Honorable Michael Sweet sentenced Elton Ward to 41 years in prison. On December 20, 2024, Ward was convicted by a jury of 18 counts of lewd act upon a child and one count of forcible rape.

Elton Ward sexually molested three girls over the course of eight years. All three victims disclosed the abuse when they were adults.  Ward was a trusted figure to all the victims’ families.  One victim disclosed she was between six and 13 years old when Ward sexually assaulted her multiple times. Another victim disclosed she was 13 when Ward molested her in the car while they were driving. The third victim disclosed that Ward molested her after a shopping trip when the victim was 11 or 12 years old, and she also disclosed that Ward raped her when she was 15 years old.

Under current California law, Ward (age 52 ) will become eligible for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he only serves 20 years of his 41-year prison sentence.   With his in-custody credits, that will be in approximately 18 years.
